The grain used is corundum, a synthetic grain made of aluminium oxide. Corundum is marked by its particular hardness and toughness. Boasting a crystalline and irregular shape, the grain is blocky and shows macro wear characteristics during use. Wearing down slowly, it offers high removal rates throughout its entire useful life. Klingspor uses synthetic resin for this short belt for handheld machines to provide for secure and stable bonding. The close coating of the grain ensures a long service along with outstanding abrasive performance. Such products require a secure connection of the two ends of the belt.
