Hard Az Sleeper Post 'C' Corner Galv 65 x 1100 mm PC65GV1100

HARDAZ galvanised corner post, 65 x 1100mm. It creates a 90° corner on a timber sleeper retaining wall for 50mm sleepers at three sleepers high (about 600mm). A recessed channel seats each sleeper flush — no fasteners and little excavation. Pressed from 2.5mm galvanised steel, the wall is about one-third the thickness of a conventional timber-post wall and is suited to walls up to 1000mm high. The recess also takes up later timber movement and shrinkage.

Installation

1. Check council requirements. For walls over 1m, or walls on a slope holding considerable weight, obtain an engineer’s report.
2. Post height should be double the finished wall height, so about half the post is below ground.
3. Clear the line, set a string line, and dig a channel so the bottom sleeper sits 100mm into the ground.
4. Stand and concrete the first post plumb. Seat the bottom sleeper before placing the next post, then repeat.
5. Use quick-set concrete, a shovel or post-hole digger, tape measure, string line and level.
