Installation Guidelines

  • Finio can be installed in 5m lengths.
  • Ensure that the area for installation is clean, dry and dust free.
  • Firstly, form Finio to the basic shape required for installation whilst keeping the release liner in place as this protects the adhesive strips.
  • Remove the upper part of the release liner whilst pressing Finio and the upper adhesive strip into the required position.
  • Finio must always be “chased” or “built into” brickwork or “over-flashed”.
  • Dress Finio into the profile of the roofing material using your hands or dressing tool with the lower release liner in place.
  • The release liner should be kept on as long as possible to keep the adhesive strip clean.
  • Lift the bottom edge of Finio to remove the lower part of the release liner whilst firmly sticking down the lower adhesive strip to the roofing material.
  • Finio must be firmly and neatly dressed onto the roofing material it covers so that there are no air gaps or cavities beneath it.
  • Following installation Finio should be protected until all building work such as rendering or painting is completed.
  • Always clean mortar, concrete and paint materials from the surface of Finio immediately.
  • Finio should be installed vertically for step flashings with a horizontal Finio soaker. Abutment flashings should also be installed horizontally.
  • Overlapping / Joining – Finio should be overlapped by 50mm on all joints. Pressure should be applied by hand or with a dressing tool to achieve a good seal. The pieces will permanently bond together.

Notes

  • Test any chemical agents on Finio before use.
  • Don’t walk on Finio during installation.
  • Although the release liner should be left in place as long as possible to ensure that the adhesive strips remain clean, it must be removed during installation.
